Different, Same

From Minding What Matters:
People do things for different reasons, though sometimes their reasons are the same. Each of us is different, yet because we have our being different in common, we find ourselves the same. We are the same in our difference, while our differences are not the same.

We have in common the experience of living a life, each life different. We have in common our human being, so much the same. Each of us faces the dilemma of how best to live that life encumbered, as it is, with inevitable sickness, suffering, and death. What do we do? We look to each other for answers.

Your answer cannot wholly be mine, for I am different. Nor can mine be yours, since we are not the same. And yet, methods we find of coming to answers may benefit us each in the same way.
